When "More Sleep" isn't possible and "More Caffeine" isn't Working
As a parent, you're capable of juggling an extraordinary load of responsibilities. It's amazing what you can accomplish when you know your little one(s) are counting on you. Thus, feeling burned out and overwhelmed is inevitable.
The good news is fatigue comes in many different forms. Knowing how to recognize those different forms and how to respond accordingly makes all the difference.
I've helped hundreds of college students, small business owners, and parents with my system, "The 5 Levels of Fatigue". I know this system will help you, too, because this is a no-BS system that includes realistic advice that actually works.
Introducing the 5 Levels of Fatigue
Shown Here: Sharing my 5 Levels of Fatigue system for the Wisconsin Lake Country Family Fun networking group, "Lake Country Currents" [October 2019].
Course Objectives
In this course, I'm going to give you the tools to identify the 5 Levels of Fatigue. Then, I'll walk you through creating your very own Game Plan for managing every one of those levels.
Fatigue Countermeasures
I'll give you strategies that DON'T involve caffeine for every Level of Fatigue because - believe it or not - sometimes caffeine can make things WORSE when you're stressed or sleep-deprived.
Caffeine Science
I'll also give you the food science and biochemistry tricks behind what kinds of coffee/energy drink/tea to drink, when.
The Energy Drink Report Card
I'll also tell you what coffees, teas, and energy drinks to avoid at all costs.
And we're going to do all this in less than an hour, because you have stuff to do, right?!?
I can't promise you'll never have another day where you're stressed out or sleep-deprived.
However,...
when those days inevitably come, you'll have (REALISTIC) strategies to manage it.
In other words, this is NOT another course where I'm going to tell you to "Eat Right. Exercise. Get More Sleep."
(I'm sure you'd get more sleep if you could!)
Nope - in this course, you're going to get REALISTIC steps you can actually take in a moment's notice to help you handle the stress and sleep-deprivation with grace and poise.
Are you ready to spend fewer days as a walking zombie? Here's how I can help.
Nearly 90% of the adult population drinks caffeine on a daily basis. It's such an automatic part of our day, we don't think about it much. However, you'd be surprised how much caffeine can affect your overall health and mental well-being. People turn to caffeine when they're emotionally exhausted, but caffeine can't cure that kind of tiredness.
No, I am NOT going to virtually confiscate your coffee maker.
Instead, I'm going to teach you how to drink caffeine strategically. How to feel more alert and focused without caffeine. When caffeine backfires and makes you even more stressed. And how small steps can help you beat burnout. I know this system will help you because it's a system I've created for myself and used for many years as both scientist and a mom.
Choose Two: Sleep. Work. Child Care. Self Care.
I see you, putting on the Strong Face. Trying to hold it all together. Telling yourself you'll just have to "make it work". I see you, getting burned out because your kids (and maybe your own parents) depend on you.
I see you. I've been there. And I can help.
I joined the "two kids under 2 years old" club in the spring of 2020. COVID restrictions made those first months with the new baby a real struggle. But even before that, I was no stranger to sleep deprivation and burnout.
In college, I had not one, but TWO part-time jobs, in addition to being a full-time student. Like so many others, I turned to caffeine to help me juggle all my commitments. But I didn't just drink caffeine, I researched it.
Overall, this course is not just about caffeine. It's about self care and mindfulness, too.
About Your Instructor: Danielle Robertson Rath - the "GreenEyedGuide"
Hello, I'm Danielle Robertson Rath, better known as GreenEyedGuide. I'm a food scientist and a biochemist specializing in caffeine. I've been in the food, beverage, and nutritional supplement industry for over a decade. I know how to read between the lines when I look at a food label. Furthermore, I've written two books: "Are You a Monster or a Rock Star" and "How to Get Sh*t Done When You Feel Like Sh*t."
But the years of industry experience with caffeine doesn't matter as much as this:
I've worked in a manufacturing plant. I've worked the night shift. I've worked two jobs while going to school full-time. People like us, people who work outside the "9-5" usually rely on coffee or energy drinks to get them through the day.
But not all caffeinated beverages are as good, as bad, or as strong as you might think!
- For example, did you know that a Grande brewed coffee from Starbucks has as much caffeine as 3 cans of Red Bull?
- Did you know that one can of AriZona Iced Tea has more sugar than a can of Monster Energy?
- Did you know that there is no standard definition for an "energy drink"? As such, they don't share the same ingredients, NOR do they have the same impact on your health
These are just some of the reasons my system is different and more realistic than anything else.
Here's What's Included
How Good or Bad is Your Favorite Caffeinated Drink?
In this eBook, you'll get a score card for the top-selling energy drinks, ready-to-drink coffees, and bottled teas. See how they compare and which ones you should avoid.
Building Your Own 5 Levels of Fatigue Game Plan
In this 30-minute training session, I'll teach you how to identify every Level of Fatigue.
Then, I'll help you identify what to do about it!
We'll review caffeine recommendations, as well as countermeasures that don't involve caffeine.
Mom's (Or Dad's) Guide to Fatigue Level 4
If you would rather clench your jaw and say, "I'll make it work" than ask for help, this module is for you!
First I'll help you catalog all your big responsibilities. Then I'll help you identify areas where you can delegate (don't laugh), delay, or multi-task when you're in Fatigue Level 4.

What People are Saying About Workshops with GreenEyedGuide
My mind is blown about what we just learned about caffeine! As nurses, we are educated on the basics of caffeine as a drug when we administer it to patients. We are not educated on how to use it safely ourselves. It is still a drug! I'm so thankful for Danielle for teaching us tonight!
